No, I haven’t moved… but I am vacationing with my mother. We are staying with family friends at their house on the beach near Charleston. Spoiled, to say the least, I am!
Spending mornings jogging on the beach, and then we went shopping. It’s rough I can tell you.
Well, the conversation is good. The food is good. And I am still able to do some work – albeit haven’t really been hitting the blog postings. Sorry.
I have been mulling over what to share – but I don’t want to resort to stereotypes of the South – although we certainly have encountered our share down here. Well, maybe not here exactly.
At the IHOP outside of Charleston, oh yeah. Let’s just say a guy with a poorly fitting tank top and the accessory of chewing tobacco and some lacking dental fixtures quoted, “I’m tellin ya, it was dumb and dumber!”
Better and not a stereotype, the very friendly and very funny cashier at Trader Joes and another at Fresh Fields market. Who knew grocery clerks could be such fun?
Hope you all are well.
Will have more fodder for you tomorrow – but I will leave you with this story I was told.
A friend of a new acquaintance was hospitalized with encephalitis. She couldn’t speak but she could understand… and she could do nothing as she heard her elderly mother walk down the hall and tell everyone her daughter had syphilis. Whoops!
As ever,
K. Quinn
