I’m being cyber stalked on several levels.
First of all, my friends at Lint Lizard… we have succumbed to your pressure, but how did you know we needed you? Actually, let me start by saying I, per say, didn’t need you – my parents do. With recent lint trap and lint exhaust issues, their dryer is not running efficiently. And so, I saw the infomercial on the Lint Lizard and told my mom she should look into it. And then, strangely enough, I started receiving infomercial emails from LL. Neither my parents or I had looked into the Lizard, so I’m thinking they bugged our home. I forwarded the email to my mother – which I know invites more of this junk, but so be it – and today, she ordered the Lint Lizard… and for the low, low price of XXX – she is getting two. I’ll let you know how we fare.
Next it’s George Washington University… which kind of makes me feel smart with them stalking me. I had checked out a masters program they offer online. Now, I am being pursued – all via email -because I didn’t give a correct phone number – first of all with a new brochure, then came the FAQs, next an email requesting info. on my grad pursuits and undergrad performance to “see what I’m looking for” – actually we all know it’s to weed me out (evidently with stalking comes paranoia and possibly some self-doubt). I held onto that email because I am seriously considering this program. In the meantime, I just received another email regarding a webinar on the program. Which I probably will tune into. Is business that bad? Approximately two hours since checking out the program and I have been essentially inundated with communication from them. Actually, it’s from a specific recruiter, but I don’t want to name names.
I guess GW is better than the assorted AARP stalking I am getting – which really kills the ego as I am nowhere near their target audience. I can only hope it’s because I am accessing wi-fi through my parents’ internet, and sorry but Dad does fit the target. I seriously hope that’s it because between the AARP offers and the “hot dates with men over 50,” a girl could get depressed.
As ever,
K. Quinn
